The East Midlands Conference Centre, on Beeston Lane at the University of Nottingham campus, operates a large, high-volume main kitchen serving conferences and events at scale. By August 2022, the existing extraction canopy system had reached the end of its serviceable life and CCE were appointed to deliver a full extraction system replacement.
The existing canopy was fully stripped out and replaced with a new purpose-designed 6-metre stainless steel island extraction canopy with full risers and a service spine. A new MUB630 box fan was installed with all ductwork connections. A gas interlocking system with CO and CO₂ monitoring was designed, installed and commissioned — all by Gas Safe registered engineers (Licence 597490).
All new pipework, electrics, waste and water connections were installed throughout the kitchen. A new suspended kitchen ceiling was installed in coordination with Arrow Ceilings. Works were delivered alongside main contractor J. Tomlinsons, coordinating across multiple trades to programme.
