Complete commercial kitchen design and installation — main kitchen, marble servery pass, walk-in chiller room, glasswash room and ice machine room — incorporating flood-resilience measures throughout. On time and on budget.
Following serious flooding in October 2023, The Hurts Arms in Ambergate, Derbyshire undertook a comprehensive refurbishment of the entire ground floor. Castle Catering Engineers were invited to advise, redesign and deliver all commercial kitchen areas — adapting the existing design to fully meet the owners' operational requirements and the flood-resilience demands of the rebuild.
The scope covered five distinct areas: a high-performance main kitchen, a bespoke marble servery pass to the restaurant, a walk-in chiller room, a dedicated glasswash and dishwash room, and an ice machine room — all designed to work seamlessly together under busy service conditions.
Our installation team worked alongside the main contractor throughout to ensure all flood-protection measures were integrated into every kitchen zone. The project was completed in April 2025, on time and within budget. All gas installations were carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers (Licence 597490), with full CP42 certificates issued on completion.
